Download 3Ds Studio MAX 2008
Eventually all upgrades start running out of numbers. Wisely eschewing ‘Pro’ and ‘Platinum’ tags, and avoiding the obvious ‘Version 10’, this release has been dubbed 3D Studio Max 2008. Does the change of name signal a change of direction? Apparently not – Autodesk isn’t trying to redevelop 3ds Max. It’s still pitched primarily at designers, architects and games houses, and doesn’t seem to be trying to claim the territory owned by Maya, the now parallel product brought into the Autodesk stable last year. If anything, it’s heading in the opposite direction, with closer links to Autodesk’s Revit Architecture, suggesting that the architecture market is increasingly significant.

Autodesk is getting ready to release the next version of AutoCAD Electrical. Hagerman & Company wants to prepare you for this next release by offering a sneak peak of the new technology being introduced in AutoCAD® Electrical 2008.

Also built in to AutoCAD Electrical is a library of more than 3,000 programmable logic controller modules to add to your schematics. Assign vendor part numbers to the symbols using the internal database that includes more than 350,000 standard catalog numbers that come directly from leading industry manufacturers. AutoCAD Electrical also allows you to run automatic report generation of BOMs, component lists, wire to and from, wire label and similar reports. As you can see, AutoCAD Electrical is the only logical choice for electrical controls design.

As usual, I’ve run out of room long before I can extol or even list all the new features in AutoCAD 2006. For example, how about the fact that view transitions such as zooming and 3D rotating can now flow smoothly from view to view? This makes it much easier to stay oriented in the drawing.
